Frequently Asked Questions

How often must laminar flow hoods be certified?

This is done once a year and occasionally every 6 months in industries such as pharmaceuticals. This allows for HEPA filters to be changed as needed and inspection of all critical parts. Most tests include filter integrity and leak testing, air particulate matter count, air velocity test, and air flow pattern test.

What is a laminar flow hood?

A Laminar flow hood/cabinet is an enclosed workstation that is used to create a contamination-free work environment. It does this with filters, which capture all the particles entering the cabinet.
